Dr Deguara spent time to talk me through the operation, the after care and the side effects. Everything he explained happened as discussed. It was a very successful procedure and I would recommend him to others.

This doctor listens to what you have to say, is pleasant charming and caring. My operation was very difficult and complicated and he was there when he was called for and looked after me very well indeed. Although nervous about the operation he put me at ease and I got through it extremely well.

I was treated by Dr Deguara for an infected gall bladder. I was initially treated with antibiotics but the gall bladder ruptured and had to be drained. Infection spread to the pleural cavity which also had to be drained. I was readmitted to hospital twice and eventually the gall bladder was removed by Dr Deguara. Dr Deguara was very attentive throughout and kept a very close watch on the situation as it developed. He kept me well informed and explained the options very clearly. The operation was carried out as an emergency following another bout of sickness. In my opinion the operation was very skillfully done in difficult circumstances. He had to consider my age (76), my heart condition (several by-passes and stents) and my repeated bouts of infection. Despite these problems he was able to remove the gall bladder by key hole surgery, and since then I have made a good recovery. I think Dr Deguara deserves great credit for his skillful surgery and for restoring me to good health in a very short time.

i recently had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy(gallbladder removal) at Kingston Hospital performed by Dr.Jean Degura and his team. Very professional, calm and down to earth doctor. From my earlier visit in his clinic to the surgery room, he was very clear about the process and explained me throughly why the surgery needs to be performed and how it would be done. He listened to all my concerns and answered all the questions that woried me about the procedure. On the day of the surgery as well, he briefed me the whole procedure again and made sure I was relaxed. All in all, great surgeon and highly recommended.

I would definitely recommend this surgeon who I found to be very down to earth and approachable he informed me of all the possibilities involved with my operation and was very patient with me as I put off making the decision to have it. The operation (cysts in my liver) went extremely well using laparoscopic surgery which left very little scarring and unexpectedly I felt no pain. I became extremely frightened when the morning after the operation I did suffer extreme pain in my shoulders for approximately 5 minutes. I was informed this was caused by the gas used to inflate my stomach. I would like to have been pre warned. All of the associated hospital staff were also excellent.
